Bender - one comment I'll offer is that you should really be cautious about see-thru mounts. I've found that even with "standard-height" rings on the 10/22 Takedown I have to use a cheek weld that is slightly higher than I would ideally like. It's just a function fo the stock shape and receiver height.
I've adjusted to it, but if I had risers of some kind under that scope it would make for a really awkward hold. I'm sure some do it, but just make sure it will work for you before you get too committed to the idea.
That said, I'm one of the adopters of the UTG Bug Buster 3-9x AO scope. Very useful zoom range, adjustable objective for various ranges, good reticle, and comes complete with quick-detach rings and flip-open lens covers for about 80 bucks. Really hard to beat. You will likely need a rail strip to go with it (the UTG one is $8), since the slots on the supplied rail aren't spaced right. Otherwise, it's ready to go out of the box. No see-through, but I don't need it.
