Or is mine just a fluke? I got one of these neat little .17HMRs with a heavy barrel and scope rail for some clandestine extermination of yard 'hogs around the treatment plant...just doing my civic duty...hung on a cheap little 2-6X NcStar Chicom scope, and started drilling woodchucks through the head at 80 yards with ease. I have a Handi-Hornet that shoots unremarkable 2 1/2" groups, thanks to a heavy trigger, but this little rimfire I've had down to 3/4 @ 50 yds. Anybody else own one?

I had one but it was an inconsistent shooter. I could get a good group and then a terrible group and then something in between. Got tired of messing with it and traded it off. Had a .223 Handi and it was consistent. Never got it to shoot anything you could call a good group. It went down the road too. I know they are not all like this but I've had my H&R-NEFs.

I have one that's wearing a survivor stock and it's a tack driver! I've got another in 22 long rifle that shoots" O.K." I've been on a quest to find a scope that doesn't make the 22 look like a " scope with a rifle mounted under it". I think I've found it. Gamo, makes an air rifle scope that's a little shorter then other 1" , 4X scopes! ( and it was only $20 w/the rings ) Of course I couldn't use the rings with the Sportster, they're for a grooved receiver. Oh well! It looks good !

its common for them to shoot good, it isalso common for them to throw flyers. to keep that to a minimum, allways put your front support in the same place, whether it is your hand, or your support. also try and keep the take down screw in exactly the same place. that should help quite a bit...

I bought one in .22 LR, Then sent the Action in and had a .17 barrel fitted. I have the scope set at 100 yds. and it does well. I haven't had the .22 barrel on it since I got the .17. I keep forgetting I have it.
