Hey all,

I am preparing for Minnesota Bear Hunting, which opens Sept 1st. I put my digital cam on 2 of my 3 baits and I need some ideas of weights and skull sizes on these bears.

Check these 3 pictures and tell me what you think the weight and skull size is.

Thanks

measure the bucket in the picture,

It appears that the boars head is about as long as the bucket.

as for the weight I don't know. There are some deer weight calculators around on the internet, maybe thaey have one for bears?

Sorry the pics are so small, thats Hunt101s fault. My copys are 1024x1280
The pale, is a standard 5 gallon pale.
Im guessing the boar around 250 as well. His head fits inside of it, I have several pictures of him.

The sow Im guessing more towards 300 or even just over. I didnt realize that my flash wouldnt be bright enough when I put it out. The sow has a pretty good gut on her head appears faily square for being a sow.

Keep the ideas coming.

Check the ears...

If they look small its because the skull is BIG = a big bear. If the ears look big relative to the skull you have a small bear. General rule of thumb for comparing bears size wise. Good luck. God Bless, Frank.
