you htink i need the .020 shim you don't think just using the .010 front and back that it comes with will be good.
Do the math....010's will get you 10" at 100..5" at 50.
So if ya have time I would get your scope back to mechanical zero...click it all the way one direction till it gets snug andor stops but DO NOT force it..then count back the other direction till stops and then back half that amount...then go shoot it at 50 on a BIG BOX and see where you are..that way you can get the correct offsets and still keep your internal adjustments near center...the best of all worlds. With all the adjusting you did your first time out you are just guessing at this point...and so am I.

Edit...I just re-read...you are almost out of adjust. at 25:eek:
Get the .020's :bthumb:

ok guys i took th egun apart and retorques everything. as i suspected there was a considerable amount of over tightening going on. As i loosend the v block i could see the barrel raise, also i had the receiver screw about 4 times to tight. after putting it together without so much force i noticed that the barrel is now about 3/8 of an inch off the front of the stock where as before it was touching the stock. I don't know when i will get a chance to go shoot it again, but i will keep you posted. If this doesn't work im going to order the adjustable v block and burris rings as i don't think the v block it's self can fix the whole problem and i can use the rings to compensate as chaser has explained.

that might center the scope but how does it adjust for poi with the rifle?
It doesn't...it simply gets the optics back where it started and where it is at optimal performance...watch the Burris video..it explains how important it is to keep near the center of your adjusters and not get out to the ends...:bthumb:

And when snugging up those screws/bolts use the T2 method...Thumb & 2 fingers on the wrench till tite...if you let the feel get ya there with this method you should be around 20-25 inch pounds
