model 57 bolt....

The model 57 bolt is very simular to the early model 69 bolt with the pull to cock feature, also cocks on closing of the bolt. A model 60 series bolt won't work because it does not have the extractors on the front of the bolt like the 69 and 57 style.I think they are totally different.....Hope this helps.... Tim

bolt interchangability,,,

I have an EARLY Win 69 bolt that will not fit my Win 56s. I did get a Win 57 bolt to fit a Win 56 however.
It would appear that a Win 69 [non A] bolt should fit the Win 56 or 57 but there is apparently more difference than just an angled bolt handle. The sear area or bottom flat of the bolt must be different somehow. I don't remember just how it did 'not' fit but it could be just a too small action headspace for a too large bolt headspace. I don't remember where the bolt stopped when I attempted to insert it.
