I have always liked those barrels and almost used one on my latest SuperStock. What? In SuperStock? Yes years ago Ricochet had one of these barrels but it was not legal. I knew he had a machinist friend and made suggestion. He had the .920 end turned to slightly less than .750. Legal Running Boar SuperStock. I think he named it Miss Piggy!! The barrel looked very good at .750 too. I think maybe rigrat has it now.

I must say this is the first time I have seen one in a Mannlicher style stock and it is very creative.

plinker4life,
I love your Mannlicher build.:t

Now you got me thinking of a heavy barrel for my SS Manlicher. Your gonna cost me money.:D
I think this is one of those builds that is so unique you either love it or hate it. Count me in the "love it" camp plinker! Nicely done.:bthumb:

Could you please elaborate on the 1/4 takedown screw ?
Beautiful rifle...
I would love to have a mannincher with one of the GM 28" barrels. ...
Just to answer for Plinker. Many of us have drilled and tapped the take down for 1/4-20 for easier to find screw and to have longer threads to ride the aluminum.

I just finished two 80% receivers and did both of those AND a SuperStock build in 1/4-20.

This is also a GREAT way to repair a stripped receiver rather than deal with a weird sized helicoil to repair it (12-24 is Ruger thread size).

Every time I see this rifle I like it even better.

Vincent, thank you.
I too like those Mannlicher stocks.

Thanks for jumping in there Vince. I've been pretty busy lately. and sometimes it is a few days between checking RFC.:bthumb:

And Buckweet here is the stock wearing a PWS T3 toggle action and a 28" GM tapered barrel.

Plinker... and here, i have this 28" GM barrel....
You have posted a rifle that i thought?
Was only in my dreams. :)
Only difference is. My dream rifle had a Weatherby Mannlicher stock...
But yours is sooooooo close !!!
Bloody good looking rifle! !!!
plinker how does that running boar compare to the 28" contour.

I was thinking about trying one or the other myself and leaning towards the muzzle weighted.
The running boar barrel has a nice offhand balance...... But both barrels shoot good.

Swapped manlicher stock with this English walnut.... Has a nice balance.

Very Nice! Very pretty! :D:bthumb:

To be very honest I like this much better than the Mannlicher style stock. Was a nice rifle before but this stock takes it to a whole other level!

Anyone would be proud to own this rifle
