My search for a Bergara B14 steel barreled action brings me here

I have been looking for a B14 steel barreled action for a match on March 19th and it seems all the distributors have been out. I am looking for leads for any 22 shops or precision shops that might have one in stock. If you have some local shops that sponsor matches, I would not mind calling around if I can get my hands on one. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

There’s one available in the trading post for a great price.
But it’s a face to face sale in Alabama only.
I don’t know if that works for you because you didn’t list your location.
USA Liberty Arms

They're in Fort Collins, Colorado and show they have one.

You're right, I guess I got too excited to see they had any.

Buy the complete rifle and sell off the stock if you don’t want it. I see them available in quite a few places. You’ll be in it for the same money and may be money ahead with what you can sell the stock for.

An easy way to ship a "face to face" sale is to have the seller take it to a local FFL. Pay the transfer fee, mailed to buyer's FFL. I've recieved a few that way over the last few years. Usually the seller pays the sending FFL fee, and buyer pays FFL fee on his/her end. Shipping is negotiable. Seems like a courteous way of handling it.

Hmm I figured the stocks were not that sought after. That might be the best best if I can sell the stock for what I have in it.

That is a good idea. It looks like my account is too new to reply to that listing. not sure if there's any other way to get a hold of the guy

I know he mentions FTF only, but do you think he would consider shipping between FFLs and using an escrow like jim46ok mentioned?

Yes, but the ad specifically states “I am not willing to ship, so please don’t ask.”
Back to you Jim

I like the hmr so much, I bought another to put my R700, 308 in it.

You can bypass the 30/30 rule by becoming a paid member.

I have no idea. I don’t know the seller.
The ad just caught my eye because it is an exceptionally good price with the extras.
If you buy a complete rifle, you get the bottom metal for the ACIS magazine, a barreled action does not, originally the barreled actions came with it but now it’s a $125 extra, plus tax/shipping purchase from Bergara.

I weighed the cost before my 1st purchase. I figured it was a better deal, about $300 more for a complete rifle and ready to use. I don’t compete so my criteria for the stock is not critical. I have 2 complete B14R rifles. And use them in the original HMR stocks without any problems.
Both rifles are free floated from factory and shoot very well on these stocks.

I have about 25,000 rounds on these 2 rifle combined, so they work for me.
