Hi Guys
This is my attempt at building a 1022.Today I went and bought the rifle it was a standard blued.I bought a BC barrel(becase there are no suppliers up here that carry any others)I picked up a volq drop in hammer, and the stock is from Gatewood.

I went and shot about 500 rounds today as is out of the box and your right the trigger sucks and with the iron sights my groups were not good...

Tonight I dismantled the rifle,installed the hammer,did the auto release trick,put on my scope(just a cheap tasco) and mounted it in the gatewood stock.I havent finished the stock yet but I will go back to the range tommorrow and see how it groups.

Thanks to Claude for the great stock it shoulders like nothing I've ever shot before...

Just need to order a Dakotan Buffer to smooth things out ....
Maybe do some bedding depending on my groups tommorrow

Actually, all the guys are getting together and pooling a bunch of their reciepts and we're gonna mail them to her asking her why you haven't paid for all of the stuff you had us pick up for you...

Up Date

Went back to the range today to sight in the scope and test some ammo.Winchester Wild Cat and CCL Mini Mags shot the best. Remington sucked and didn't seem to feed well either.

I had a few 3 shot groups under a dime, but one of the best was the 5 shot group in the picture.

I am pleased with the results considering I haven't shot much in many years.

Now on to finishing the beautiful Gatewood stock
