Here,s my Mossberg 151m. I think model (a)? Rear s130 sight, front s101/ 106 , metal butt plate.
it,s definitely missing the sight hood, ordered. Also it looks like I need the swivels also? For completeness.
Is it missing another sight? You can see the 2 threaded holes on the receiver, or having s130 means no other was supplied ?

Does the stock finish look original or redone? Thanks.
Ps. Shoots well. But a few times shot double. Know the problem .Will post separately.

Yes you are missing the rear barrel sight, they original came with three sights, front, rear barrel and a rcvr peep sight. But most would removed the rear barrel sight as it would interfere with the Peep sights.

With the metal butt plate I would think it is a first design model 151M. If my memory is correct, the later (a,b,c) models all came with a plastic butt plate.

From what I see the finish looks to be original, but without having it in hand, I cannot say for sure.

The double issue is a good sign stating it needs to be taken down and cleaned. They are know for gumming up if too much oil is used. All it takes is a drop or two. This will also give you an opportunity to inspect the internals for issues.

Repos swivels are available from havlinsales.com, they are our go to guys for vintage rimfire's.

Your rear barrel sight should be an S107

Definitely a nice looking rifle.

I have two 151M(a)'s and they both have the metal butt plate. My understanding is that the butt plate changed to a plastic butt plate with the 151M(b) and later models, but with Mossbergs penchant for not wasting perfectly serviceable parts... who knows???
God Bless, Frank.
And always a transition ...........!

Yes. I looked at a sticky about Mossbergs, compared and figured out mine was
151m (a). I,m amazed how it feeds by 'shooting' the rounds right into the chamber. None of the nonsense of bolt picking it up from a regular mag and FTF. Love it.

I,m an idiot. I was reading the Mossberg sticky and by the description of the parts decided mine was 151m (a). There was a simpler answer….

Today I looked more carefully at the marking and saw it:

Knocked out of alignment? How that happens? Want to know to prevent it from happening. And is it possible to realign it back?
I believe Scooter is talking about a severe situation or being assembled incorrectly.

Most everything on these old simple rifles can be fixed or repaired.(y)
