Model 82 Blue Ridge Classic Worth

Model 82 Blue Mountain Classic, what's a good price?

I have a chance to buy some rifles from a guy who had only collected but never shot the guns. One of them is a Model 82 Blue Ridge Classic, with with 4X RF Special Leupold Scope. The gun is immaculate and has never been shot. I would appreciate an idea of the what the gun is worth. thanks in advance for any info you would care to share with me. Also, would this gun be good for serious smallbore competition.

I think you mean "Blue Mountain Classic". I have 2 of them and paid 900.00 and 950.00 for them, both are new. As for using it for competition that will depend on how well it shoots. My experience with Kimbers show them to be pretty accurate after the search for the right ammo is done.

The Blue Mountain Classics are referred to as Oregon guns, being from the original Kimber of Clackamas Oregon. They were manufactured in the middle to late eightys, before the change of ownership in 1990. Rifles of the next generation are referred to as America guns as they will say Kimber of America, Clackamas Oregon. There are some minor differences such as action, bolt changes, etc. and have a rubber butt pad instead of the niedner style metal butt plate. The BMC is a very collectable Kimber if kept in its original configuration, ie Leupold 4x rimfire scope, Kimber premier rings, shorter barrel and original stock.

Thanks for the information , its a great help, I think I might have to have this one, It seems real nice. I know it probably lessens the value to shoot something like this, but thats what I want it for.
thanks
