I've had a 7000 sporter for around 4 or 5 years. It is, in my opinion, more accurate than most 1022s with heavy barrels. I think the factory trigger is better than the factory Ruger, but you can't do much with the 7000 and you can fix the Ruger. If you want to buy a rifle you don't have to work on, I'd get the 7000. If you want a rifle to modify, get a 1022.
