Model 52 Pre-A

560 5
New acquisition:

Circa 1927, slow-lock, totally unmolested, excellent overall. Looks like it's a ten-ring (A-25 target, 100 yards) shooter from prone with nothing more sophisticated than 25-year-old Federal Champion and the "issue" sights. Happy Camper. :D

Bob, that's a nice looking Model 52 Target rifle. I grew up with my father's Model 52 slow lock rifle (serial # in the 11,000 range) and have five pre-A's of my own. Two of mine are speed locks. They are shooters and yours will likely do well with a wide variety of different cartridges. In my experience the early Model 52's are not as picky about ammunition as many other rifles.

Let us know how yours does after you've had a chance to shoot it some.

I'm in with these guys, my pre-A speed lock isn't fussy at all--throws everything right into the middle of the x. Nice to see such an original one still taken care of after all these (80+) years!
