I haven't encountered the problem, but have seen it in other shooters' model 41s from time to time.
Some extractors are too long. If an extractor bangs into the barrel enough times, it's probably going to break.
For what it's worth, I've broken an extractor on a High Standard Victor by switching barrels: the extractor hit the rear of the barrel.
