I have a Marlin Model 80DL that is having a problem. I have the origional clip with the gun that works fine. I have purchased an additional 2 clips that seem to pop out of the bottom of the gun when I close the bolt. The only physical difference that I can see is that the clip that works has a different follower, instead of being bright orange, it is metal. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had a gun that did this once and the cause was the ejector was touching the magazine causing a transfer of energe. Sort of like a pool ball effect. Hope this helps.
