My grandfather has given me a Marlin Model 29 that belonged to my great grandfather. The stock is in pretty poor shape. Can anyone provide any information on parts sources or restoration tips? I would like to restore this rifle. Thanks.
The Marlin Mdl. 29 was almost identical to the Marlin Mdl. 20 with the exception of a round, vice octagonal barrel and a plain slide handle. They were manufactured for a only few years, from 1912 to 1917. Replacement parts are going to be a problem since they're not all that common. I would suggest that you search EPay for awhile since this is sometimes a good source for these odd, and uncommon items. HTH.
