When it works, it works great. However - it seems to need "tuning" for various brands of ammo. One brand will work fine, another won't work at all. Adjust for the 2nd, then the first won't work. I'm starting to not use mine anymore, after several years of being rather enthusiastic about it.McFadden is the way to go. May take a little "tuning" but once you get it set it will be perfect.
This it?Back in the 80's my LGS sold a plastic 'hook' shaped thing that grabs the follower button (regardless of which side) and holds it down. Makes loading the mags real easy. Though I'd seen similar since, I've never seen them again.
This one looks very interesting but the picture of the packaging mentions only the Mark 1 & Mark II. Do you happen to know if it will work on the Mark III?
Thanks for the info!!I liked this particular design however based on my experience it does not work with the Mark III magazines.
If you get the one marked for "Ruger I&II", it will be very close to working for mark 3,4 mags. These mags have a couple extra "push outs" that will need some clearance added for. A few minutes with a small file can modify the loader to work just fine. :tThis one looks very interesting but the picture of the packaging mentions only the Mark 1 & Mark II. The HKS will work w/ Mark III. Carefully take a small file and remove a SMALL amt of plastic from the corner that the mag safety 'bump' sticks out on. Go slow and try it several times. When the mag will just slide into the device stop. That will greatly assist in loading mags. The HKS thing is labelled for Mark IIs not Mark IIIs. Get the one labelled for Mark I and Mark IIs..
Yes it will. This one looks very interesting but the picture of the packaging mentions only the Mark 1 & Mark II. Do you happen to know if it will work on the Mark III?

What I use.The Tandemkross lanyard speed loader (costs less than $10) works GREAT. It is so simple, is just ONE piece of solid lexan so no risk of breaking, Takes the stress off your thumb from the mag buttons on any typical 22LR pistol mag; Ruger MKs, Browning, etc.
