I have the 452 Varmint model which I installed the new, version Timney trigger. my question is should I put a small amount of Rem oil on these contact points etc. after flushing the action out with Gunscrubber spray solvent? or would that be a dangerous, thing to do? Thanks!

I would only lube any pivot points. I never lube sear/trigger contact points.

As a school trained gunsmith, and the school was in Kalifornia, go ahead. There are physical stops involved in the design of the trigger, and the ultimate angle on the striker is positive or neutral. It's not like the sear will slide off because of lubrication there. You'll find it will make the pull more consistant over time.
Anytime I adjusted a trigger, after I was finished tightening the locknuts down and hitting them with red nail polish, I put 2 drops of oil in there and blew it out. Rem oil or Breakfree are great for this.

I used wilson combat ultima-lube and the trigger has progressively gotten better, you only need a small amount and it stays in place:bthumb:
