Lilja Group Buy?

I recently purchased a Lilja barrel for a centerfire rifle project. I now want to purchase their 10/22 LR and 10/22 MAG 17 HMR barrels. Lilja does not give discounts if you have an FFL, you get a discount based on quantity. The minimum quantity is 5 in a 12 month period. So, if I can get at least two more people to go in with me, we can save about $50 per barrel.

Very tempting.

I already have a Clark barrel that shoots 0.4 inch groups. I am back and forth on whether to spend another $280 to (potentially) improve the groups by 0.1-0.2 in.

Help me out here.

Tough call. I'm addicted to precision, so its a no brainer for me. But if your just going to plink or hunt, its probably not worth it. I have a bunch of Lilja and Shilen and Hart barrels, so I figure "what's another $280?"

In all honesty, no one else makes a 17 HMR SS Sporter non-fluted barrel, so I have to go with Lilja.

I've been wondering if the semi-auto action is capable of meeting the accuracy provided by a top-end .22 LR barrel, whether Lilja/Shilen/Border or whatever.

I know of one person with the Lilja on their 10/22 getting better than .2 groups @ 50 yards.

Hi Tim,

My mistake -- they don't make a 17 HM 2 for the 10/22, just the 77/22.

So we are now short one person.

If we do find another person, the barrels listed for $350 will be discounted to $295 plus shipping, and the $325 barrels will be discounted to $270 plus shipping. Virginia told me she would drop ship them directly to each of you, so there won't be an additional shipping charge.

Come on guys, we need one more person!

Please Read!!

If you did not contact me directly to participate in the group buy, please do not call Lilja Barrels asking to be a part of the group buy. Dan Lilja called me and it seems tons are people are now calling and saying they are part of our group buy wanting a discount. He asked for the names of those that contacted me, and only those people will be able to get the discounted price. I'm sorry to have to do this, but that's why we had a cut off date for each person to contact me.

I would guess that first you would have to check with RFC to see if it's OK to do a group buy, then you would need to contact Lilja, and see if they are willing to do it again, then you would have to get the prices for the barrels, and a minimum amount of barrels that needed to be ordered to get any discounts, post a thread giving the details of where, when, how you were running the group buy, then collect the money (probably need an escrow account for that, somewhere), place the order with Lilja, then when the barrels are delivered to you, you will need to repackage them, and ship them out to each individual that ordered a barrel...easy, peasy, as long as everything along the way goes smoothly
