A Senior Sportsman's License in KY costs $12. Covers fishing, hunting, deer tags, and turkey tags. The regular price is $95. A bargain at either price.

Fact is, I've forgotten about the Senior discount a couple of years and paid full price.

In Mississippi you can get

Sportsman license- covers deer, turkey, small game, primitive weapons/archery/crossbow and fresh water fishing $45

All game fresh water fishing- no archery/primitive weapons or crossbow- $25

Small game/freshwater fishing- $10

WMA permits- $15

65 and over you can get Senior license- includes All Game Hunting, Freshwater Fishing license, Archery/Primitive Weapon/Crossbow, and WMA. Does not include saltwater fishing and waterfowl stamp. Only valid with proof of Mississippi residency.
for $2.30

Called NC Wildlife, Senior Sportsman is still free for me, only thing I'd have to pay for is Salt Water fishing, E tag for Bear and of course Federal Waterfowl are extra.

Alberta hunting fees

I wish we could hunt and fish for the fees you guys pay. What follows is our "hunting fee guide lines". To break it down a bit, a hunting licence good for small game, deer tag and upland bird tag costs us $84. plus tax. And a fishing licence is another $35. I can't wait to be a senior when all of the above will only cost me $8.50 a year. I think all my licences last year totaled close to $250.

I am a whiney baby when I have to start handing over the $$ to our Parks and Wildlife, it gets bad when I see other states are so reasonable...

But I shut up when I look North and see the fees in Canadam and when I look at the regs and fees in fishing and small game in England and Scotland and other places...
Sorry for them...some of it is insane!

Most here know we pay an excise tax of around 11% on ammo, firearms, archery, and fishing equipment. Most of this money comes back to the states for conservation, shooting ranges, and Hunter education.

The formula used to determine how much comes back to the states involves land mass and number of license buyers.

Free licenses are not counted so they cost states all their share of this money. These are called Pittman/Robertson and Dingel/Johnson funds.

I’m glad I must buy a senior licens so my excise taxes come back to KY.

liscense

Bought NC lifetime hunting and fishing for me and my 2 sons many years ago, 40?, mine was 300, sons were 200 at the time. Best money ever spent. Bought grandsons in two states for 100.00 per state. He was not yet a year old.

Tennessee minimum hunting (small game)/fishing is $33. There is no separate fishing license. Add big game it's $33 each for gun, archery and muzzleloader. None of these includes non quota permits or WMA permits where required. Or an All inclusive annual sportsman hunt, trap, fish for $165. There is a license exemption for landowners who hunt or fish on their own land. I usually deer hunt on my own land(70 miles for home). Wife and I buy the minimum hunt/fish so we can fish on the local lakes and squirrel hunt in the North Cherokee National Forest WMA ( no permit required for small game hunting). There are 2 pages on license fees in the annual guide with additional fees and exemptions for seniors, vets, non residents ect.

The last time I hunted my home state, (Washington) was 7 years ago. It was over $200 for my hunting/fishing license, tags, (elk, deer, bear and cougar), and punchcards for steelhead, salmon, and sturgeon. I still fish here, but all my hunting is done out of state. The only this I really miss is hunting Blacktails, coyotes, and Bobcats out behind the house. According to Google Earth, I have to go 71 miles due west, as the crow flies to hit pavement, so "out behind the house", is a LOT of country. I don't know what it costs now, but I know it's more than that.

Resident Lifetime Sportsmen's Combination Hunting/Fishing License $765.00
Resident Senior Sportsmen's Combination Hunting/Fishing License $13.50
Resident Sportsmen's Combination Hunting/Fishing License $26.25
Resident Veteran Sportsmen's Combination Hunting/Fishing License (Prior Certification Required) $13.50
The hunting is only for small game, waterfowl, deer, turkey etc. is extra.
There is also a Super Senior Combination Hunting/Fishing License (over 75) $2.75
Deer, turkey are another $15.00 each

Here in Tennessee my grandson's Lifetime Sportsman License was $200.00 if bought before his second birthday, which we did. My Lifetime Sportsman at 65 was $329.00...we're all set for anything we want to hunt, fish for, or trap for, except we have to buy a Federal Duck Stamp every year to duck hunt. This also covers application and permit costs for any quota hunts on our Wildlife Management Areas. We also got our grand daughter her Lifetime Sportsman License for the $200.00. She's only five now, but she already loves to fish..

Texas Senior (65 or over) Super Combo includes:
Resident hunting license
Resident fishing license
Archery endorsement
Freshwater fishing endorsement
Saltwater fishing endorsement with a red drum tag
Upland game bird endorsement
Migratory game bird endorsement
Price is $32, $68 if you're under 65.

Federal duck stamp is extra.

Kansas is a great place to live, but... The Wildlife and Parks (now called parks and tourism) likes to screw people over. Basically, our former governor mike hayden and friends have catered to the almighty dollar, trying to draw in out of staters and make every thing expensive. Even sticking it to the elderly by requiring a license past 65 years (although that is still reasonably priced - used to be free though). Our cost of living is low here, except for hunting/fishing/trapping. Fortunately, I bought a lifetime 20+ years ago. I still have to pay $50+ for a buck and a doe tag each fall. I think the yearly license is around $25 (each) IIRC.

License Fees

Louisiana senior- $5. Gets you fresh/salt fish and basic hunt. Anything that requires tags is standard tag price. Also gives you reciprocity for freshwater fish in Texas. I like that. Before age 65 it's all separate and I don't recall the prices. It's been over 20 years since I fished in Missouri. Eleven Point River. As I recall, they seemed more concerned with protecting smallmouth than trout at that time. I didn't manage to catch any of either. Don't know what non-resident fees are in Pennsylvania but I intend to find out.

I turned 65 almost 14 years ago and at the time everything was free for me but now old folks have to pay a little for their licenses.
Can't remember how much but it should be free.
Free? Really? Seriously? I wonder how many times in your 79 years you've told your kids or other whining people "there's not such thing as a free lunch."

Missouri land owners deer and turkey tags are priced right $0.00 .
Small game on your private property no license required except migratory birds and federal waterfowl stamp .
Fishing no license requirements if body of water is contained within your property.

This is what I paid this past season for PA

Fishing.....................................................................................$22.97

Saving money

if I did every thing I did ten years ago $210, if I add water fowl, wolf and elk application it would be pushing $300. Last five years it's been $20.00 fishing only and if it wasn't for my kid I wouldn't buy that! Do 90% of my fishing in creek behind my house never saw a warden back there in 50 years.
