The Leapers I have seen at gun shows are noticeably inferior optically.

You want $450 performance for half, narrow your type of use and you might do pretty good. Long ways from $225 and Leapers.

Be more specific about intended use and tell us your budget you probably will get some good suggestions. The first suggestion is forget the Leapers.

Forget the 30mm tube. It really doesn't get you anything in this application.

Here is a Bushnell Legend 5-15x mil-dot without side focus. Cost is $179.

Here is a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14 mil-dot with side focus. Cost is $245. Given your wants I would say this one is worth getting another $45 to own.
