I have been reading a lot of good info here about copper fouling and cleaning problems/procedures. I have a new gun and I'm thinking that if I stick with lead/match only bullets then I will avoid copper fouling and be able to clean with a lead solvent occassionally and dry patchs.

I have another rifle for coppers and such.
Is this a smart/easy thing to do as long as I find lead ammo that likes this new gun?

Copper fouling doesn't seem to be any quantifiable problem with shooting 22 rimfires...unless you are talking the magnums which are jackets bullets. The Long Rifles are just dusted with powder and it doesn't seem to give any measurable build up in the barrels.

Ron, thanks for reminding me. I think I got caught up in centerfire copper fouling. I am getting older!
