🔴 INFORMATION ABOUT LBJENNINGS GUNSTOCKS

This is information for you guys, who like checking out my stock builds. As of today, all of my builds, that I can post, will be in this thread, called "lbjennings gunstocks". I will try and remember to put a little red ball "🔴" in the starting page of every new stock. Once a few stocks are posted, you will have to do some searching. When you open "lbjennings Gunstocks ", click on the little bar at the top right, that says "display modes", and choose "threaded mode", that will make searching a little easier.
Hopefully, you will be able to check here, if you want to see what I'm building.

STOCK 238 PEAR WOOD SPORTER
Here’s a few pictures of the finished stock. I had my buddy add a few touches with his laser. It looked like the stock was gonna have more figure than it turned out, but that’s ok. The color is great.

I like the laser work, Larry. Funny that it would be two acorns - I can just picture handing it to somebody and telling them "you're nuts!" I guess that would be better than "your nuts" though.

I used my laser to engrave my granddaughter's initials, then filled them with blue mica and epoxy. You two made a good team on this stock!

As for the color, it's "just like apple."

Hey Andy
This stock turned out okay, but the grain doesn’t show off it’s beautiful very well. I’ll probably be building a couple more pear stocks, just because I have the wood. Hopefully, I’ve learned a little more about the finishing process for the next one.

I built this for my youngest grandson a couple years ago. If you look closely in the second picture, you can see the stock could be shortened to accommodate his 8 year old stature, at that time.

Thanks for checking out my builds, it’s a fun hobby. I’m sure my stocks aren’t for everyone, but that’s the fun part of doing your own thing.

These aren’t 10/22s, but I thought I’d show you guys some of my other toys, supporting my stock builds. My Howa actions came from Brownells, when they were running their sales. All are really good shooters. The 6.5 Grendel is my favorite caliber, very accurate And you don’t feel like you’ve been beat up after shooting 20 rounds.

Here’s some pictures of a hard maple stock I built. It has one coat of Minwax golden pecan and eight coats of truoil.

STOCK #240 MAPLE BENCHREST
Here’s another stock I built a while back. The wood is figured hard maple. I used one coat ofMinwax golden pecan stain to help bring out the grain, finishing with eight coats of truoil.

STOCK 244
Since i haven had any custom work for a while, I’ve been doing my own thing and building a few stocks for the classifieds. This one was heading that way but decided to do it for myself because it’s gonna be a wood l haven’t worked on before. The hardwood lumber business called it “coffee bean”.
Looks like it’s gonna resemble red oak grain, but not as hard. It’s really nice to work with. I guess we’ll see what happens. This stock is going to fit the standard, tapered barrel, 18.5 Inches. My trim is some kind of hardwood burl I had laying.
