Hey Andy, your right, I think this one is gonna be a looker, if I do my part and try not to screw up. Sometimes I get lucky, when I visit my hardwood guys looking for a nice board.Already you can see that the grain on this one is going to be fabulous!

Hello, thanks for checking out my work and thanks for commenting.Just went back and looked at the photo in post 875; Larry, are you sure you own enough C clamps?![]()
I still have some shaping to do, but it’s getting there. May get a chance to work on the stock tomorrow, if the weather cooperates.Exactly what I asked for and more! Well done!
Looks like a twin of #228STOCK 233 WALNUT BENCHREST

You’re right, they are similar, but if you look close, you’ll see the 228 has a slanted bottom edge and the buttpad is a 1/2 inch pad. That is a pad I normally use on the Sporter style stock. Most of my benchrest stocks have a 1/4 inch pad, like 233.Looks like a twin of #228
Also, the forearm of 228 has a gradual taper, not the shape of 233.Looks like a twin of #228
Beautiful Larry. I'm getting excited.STOCK 233 WALNUT BENCHREST
Here‘s a few more pictures. I’m about ready to call the stock finished, for my part. The customer gets to do the fun part of this build, I hope the wood will do it’s part.
