Now you have me curious. It doesn't look right, I can't say for sure but I'll have to look at my Kidd tomorrow.
Thats on a slip fit barrel. Not a Super Grade@LeadStacker, @270jrwt
Thanks for the replies. At least I know I’m not just being picky. I sent Kidd a message, but I figured it couldn’t hurt posting the question here as well. I will update once I hear back from Kidd.
I found this ancient Tony Kidd video about the classic/slip-fit. At 5:55 he says heating the receiver to fit the barrel may result in an “oblong” expansion of that “receiver bore hole.”.
Thank you for confirming, @jazzsax8. I can stop stressing now… I am still curious to hear from Kidd about the reason for this apparent design intent, but as long as it shoots well I’m happy.Good catch and I quickly noticed the same thing when I got my SG. It is designed that way and I am not sure of all the details why but it returns very close to zero using the two screws if you remove the barrel then reinstall. While not the same as the tight slip fit, it is still described by Tony as the most accurate configuration of what he sells using the 20" heavy match barrel.
I see what your saying..but I thought that was the new slip fit Super GradeThats on a slip fit barrel. Not a Super Grade
Woah, you’re right. I didn’t notice it at first without the round barrel tenon installed for contrast. You and jazzsax8 have convinced me. Good eye catching that.I see what your saying..but I thought that was the new slip fit Super Grade
if you watch that vid closely, you can see the barrel hole isn't perfectly round, when at 40 seconds in Tony shows the end if the receiver to the camera
