I'm planning to get the 10/22RB, which is the stainless steel with wood stock.

I would appreciate knowing how nice/well made the Ruger wood stocks are (no local dealers have them for me to look at).

I would like a nice solid hardwood stock, so if the 10/22RB isn't that great a stock, I'll go with the 10/22RPF, stainless with synthetic stock.

I just bought my first 10/22RB two months ago. The RB stocks are birch. I did see variations in how the wood took the stain in the various diplay models. Some were darker and some were lighter than others. I did see one where the butt plate was fitted very poorly. If it was me I would like to inspect it before purchase to be sure the stock met my taste.
