Hopkins and Allen

1521 Views 12 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  mgb8345

This is a takedown model 22 long rifle with a extra smooth bore barrel bolt action Hopkins and Allen. Has anyone ever seen one or does anyone know anything about them? Is there any Hopkins and Allen collector groups? I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks Steve

I love old esoteric pieces like that. We really need to start a thread on these old rare ones....or just tack on from here.

Old man Hoban bought the Daisey company back in the 40's and produced a kids rifle for two years simply called the Hoban rifle. It is a single shot that looks like a cross between a M1 carbine and a Carcano. The magazine is simply a facade. I bought this one at an estate sale. The owner won the rifle by selling White Cloud door to door. These rifles are rarely seen.

Here is the single shot version, and I wrote up a short thread of what I found out about it. I understand about 100 years ago there was a fire that destroyed many of the company records.
Mine is all original but was refinished many moons ago, but they did a good job. The only marking on the barrel reads "American Militery Rifle".
