The company went out of business in 1916 so that is one hell of a rifle for it's day...or today.

I love old esoteric pieces like that. We really need to start a thread on these old rare ones....or just tack on from here.

Old man Hoban bought the Daisey company back in the 40's and produced a kids rifle for two years simply called the Hoban rifle. It is a single shot that looks like a cross between a M1 carbine and a Carcano. The magazine is simply a facade. I bought this one at an estate sale. The owner won the rifle by selling White Cloud door to door. These rifles are rarely seen.

Those are some fine examples of old 22s! The few Hobans I've have seen were very rough and had damaged firing pins. Why I come here you fellers have awesome examples of American workmanship.

Here is the single shot version, and I wrote up a short thread of what I found out about it. I understand about 100 years ago there was a fire that destroyed many of the company records.
Mine is all original but was refinished many moons ago, but they did a good job. The only marking on the barrel reads "American Militery Rifle".

Tbarinpa - Thanks for the pictures. A very neat rifle. Mgrg1's rifle has a Lyman 42 HM made especially for the Hopkins and Allen American Military Rifle. I enjoy these old gems. Bob
