I have a powers custom weaver base for a scopemount. Will adding a heavy (20 ounce about) scope onto the aluminum receiver have any change in the accuracy of the gun?

I am probably being overly concerned - but better safe than sorry

I am guessing the silohuette guys have much heavier scopes than this?

Thanks,

Zach

A lot of the higher magnification scopes that the silhouette shooters use, weigh easily 32 ounces. Some of the scopes are 30 power or above.
The weight of the scope does not have any thing to do with the accuracy of the gun, unless the over all weight (rifle and scope package) is too heavy for the shooter.
