Just a few days ago, I read a post about testing a GM stinger barrel. I think the poster was Chief Dave. (Please correct me if I am wrong, but search on Stinger Barrel).

In the test a 10 shot/clean/10 shot.... approach was used, and a sequence of targets showed that accuracy improved over the process. The cleaning procedure was detailed as well.... A really useful post, IMO.

I will use the same procedure when I get my new barrel.

I took my new GM barrel out today to test it with a variety of ammo. Thank heaven for Arizona's beautiful weather. I ran 7 different brands of ammo from Blazer to RWS Match. Best group was with Federal bulk pack that I got from WallyWorld but no one would believe the size . They ended up averaging .209 inches at 25 yards for 10 5 shot groups.

Mini Mags averaged .130 followed by Green Tag at .139 and Blazer at .154 These groups were measured from center to center.

No sence buying the expensive stuff I guess. This barrel likes the cheap stuff just fine. Next week I'll test at 50 yards.

I came across my group numbers by measuring the outside of the two extreme bullets and then subtracting .22 I think this is the correct way.
