I bought a Glenfield 25 in fall of '81. When I put a scope on it the point of impact kept wandering around, the iron sights are fine. Recently I heard mention of an undersized barrel pin problem. Does anyone know about this and how I might fix it?

I wonder if you aren't making this too difficult.

If the iron sights are okay, but the scope causes poi to wander, you might want to check the mounts first. Some rimfire mounts and rings are a little on the suspect side.

Did you mount a "new" scope? Could be a scope problem.

The scope was brand new and subsequently mounted on a Rem 581 and doing just fine. Yes, same rings. My dad uses the 25 to shoot at ground hogs in the garden and I was hoping to improve his average. I don't have the gun with me currently but have always wondered what to do for it. I may see if he'll let me have it for awhile and see what I can come up with.
