I have been kicking around the idea of building a rotating barrel gatling with a single 10/22, fixed mounted within the barrel assembly. There would be a crank handle on the side which would rotate the false barrels and actuate the 10/22. It would be a novelty to have fun with and if I I could get it to work well, I would probably figure out some way to use it in a Cowboy Action Shooting side match as a club fund raiser. I'm a hobby wood worker and gun tinker and have sketched out some ideas, but hate to reinvent the wheel. I am fairly new to RC, but have done some searches and found nothing on a silly idea like this here, or anywhere else for that matter.

Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help on this and all the other good info I have picked up here.

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I have done several searches and gleaned thru lots of posts, but have found nothing yet along the lines of what I have in mind. I have a couple of friends who are making half scale, actual working guns, but I am just getting into machining and am not ready to take on a project of this magnitude. I have also looked at one of the double rifle setups, which look like they would be fun, but the looks of them really don't do much for me.

What I have in mind is a totally wooden mock-up of the old style gatling gun, which would be just for looks, and then mounting a single stock 10/22, stationary, hidden within the turning barrel assembly, that would do the actual firing. The crank would spin the fake barrels and actuate the 10/22 trigger.

Anyway, thanks again guys. I have gained a bunch of good info on this site, and hope to put some of it to work. Just found a post on the USBR postal match and was trying to figure out the game and where to get targets. So much to do, and so little time!!!!!!!

Well, enough wandering. If anybody else out there has knowledge of any similar Gatling gun projects, I would certainly appreciate feed back.
