Freeland handstop

1051 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Telly
I have one of the old Savage Anschutz Model 10's that someone fitted a Freeland Handstop rail to years ago. None of the current handstops seem to fit as they are very wide and thin. This rail is more narrow and has a much deeper slot in the rail. Does anyone know about this rail and can guide me to handstops, etc. that may fit? The outside deminisions are also different from the replacement rails available from Champions Choice, etc.

Thanks,
Telly

Years ago, I was a dealer for Al Freeland's stuff. Good stuff it was, too. I believe that someone like Champion Shooters' Supply is marketing a limited number of his old items. At least, I have seen (somewhere) the scope stands. Do a web search and it should come up.

Yes, that's Champion's Choice outside of Nashville, TN. I got a handstop from them that is of new manufacture and will not fit the rail. I would change rails but they are a little different on outside deminisions. I didn't talk to Homer, who has been around since dirt was new, so I may have to do that.

Freeland Products ..... !

Hi Telly,

Geo1 is correct .... Champion Shooters, up in Albany, Ohio - NOT Champions Choice of LaVergne, TN - is the current "owner" of the manufacturing rights to all of Al Freelands old products. I'm not sure though just which items they still produce, but I'm sure an E-Mail or phone call would soon get you that info.

Check: http://www.championshooters.com

Regards,
Bryan - The Fuzzy Limey
