First Step is admitting you're an addict.

Hi, My name is Paul and I am addicted to Rimfire. I thought it was just bolt action, but now I know it is all of it...semi auto too.

This afternoon I went to my local gunshop (AMS in Woodinville,WA) and plunked down a short stack ($201 with tax) of bills for my very own 10/22. Unfortunately, since I have an Alien Firearms License I was "delayed", so it will be sometime next week before I can start my pilgrimage to Ultimateville.

For now, it will get a heavy barrel, a bolt buffer, a powercustom base, a set of rings and a WTC 18 scope (I really like the one on my marlin 925 and the price is definitely right). Then some elbow grease to open up the barrel channel, polish the trigger and do some bolt work. I will, (if time permits...you know I will have to hit the range before too long) try my hand at some stock mods too, I have gotten some great ideas off of here.

Maybe in the future, an after market stock might makes it onto the gun...but that is beyond my current budget, and depending on how my own woodworking turns out.

Good luck with your project. Sounds like a good one.
Ok...I have been busy (some of you may have smelled the smoking plastic :D )

I ordered:
Adams & Bennett 18" Fluted blue .920 barrel (84.99 at Midway)
Burris High Sig Zees (and shim set, just to be safe)
Powercustom Base
spare Magazine
WTC18 scope (from swfa)
Bolt Buffer (from Dakotan)

and I only slightly went over budget...really...honest. :t

Don't forget to get the hex head screws from Tenspot for the scope mounts.

just 14 months. but I did manage to convert my wife, the 10/22 is theoretically so she can shoot with me at the range...yeah, that's it. :D

I'm NOT AN ADDICT...

I can quit anytime I want to!! I'm not an addict I can quit anytime...you say there's a sale at Dicks....I WANT to!
To be continued after the sale......

If this is an addiction...?

Ok. guys, if shooting mods is an addiction what does that make me. A Pusher? HHmmm. No can't be.
You know your addicted when you have to watch the weather every night just to hear the wind report for the next day :D

HD
lol, hoosier. mark my calendar for our three day forecast wind reports here, and hope they are wrong if it is too gusty.

I can't help it, I went to the range just to plink in 30mph winds, some (I'll call her a lady) stopped and asked what the ranges were and i said 25-50-75 and 100 yds and she said isn't there something else to do besides standing out in the cold and wind and I just said, nope! what else is there to do?????? and turned back> She left and I enjoyed myself by shooting 22 ant at 50 yards the wind was from the left and the group wasn't all that bad but about 4 1/2" inches from point of aim!!!!!!!!!!! addicted anyone ????????????? Tim
If you are going to go to all the trouble to hog out your stock I would suggest deciding if you want some other changes and do that too, finger grooves for instance. Some people think the factory stock feels too thick and this is a good time to fix that. I did it waiting for my stuff to come, it was easy.

Well thats not the way I went about it.
My 10/22
My wife's 10/22
My son's 10/22

Best part about it is I have 1 daughter and 2 grand-daughters! OK yes the grand-daughters are 2 and 3 so they have a couple years or so before they are ready and our daughter (I don't understand why) isn't interested (could have been when she tried shooting some of my centerfires ... the noise kind of scared her *&$% out of her)!

So the way to do it is get them there own guns and you get to build them up for them too! My latest excuse is since I gave our son my low dough gun I'll need to build another :D

ADDICTED??

i feel at home here with all the other so-called "non-addicts". but will shoot during the winter at 30 above IF the wind is not howling. nope, NOT addicted.

Hi,,, I'm DAN,,,,,, I'm an addict. I'm building 10/22 number 6 and trying to sell number 3 to support my habit. I've givin 3 away to my Father in Law , A brother in law and a close friend. I trying to tell myself that its OK to do this...Give guns away!! I know I need help, but its just a thing I like to do. Build them spend 1000 of hours sanding stocks and polishing parts , dreaming of the new stuff I want to try. The ideas are running in my head faster then I can keep track of them. I want to machine my own parts and color my own stocks. I even offer to sand and finish stocks for my deer hunting buddy. (Two of them). No I'm not SICK. really the doctor tells my wife that it's a passing fancy.. "He'll grow out of it, or tire of it......No I don't need help.. No .....NO ..... I said "NO" ..I DON"T NEED ANYONES HELP",,, HONEST""".............
Hi, my name is Mark and I'm a rimfire addict. I've been in rimfire recovery for about a year now. I get all the love and support I need from my fellow addicts at RFC.comA... I couldn't do it without you... I love you maaaaan!

I haven't had to do without food or electricity for a while now. The little lady is down to one job again. The kids are all grown and gone, so hopefully one day they will realize just how sick the old man was... and how grateful they are for all the cool rimfires that will be theirs some day.

With the help of you good people I can keep my rimfire addiction in check and only build a new one after the last one is finished. No longer do I HAVE to have 2 or 3 or more 10/22's torn down to feel like a man. To hide from life behind my workbench.

I can now build one at a time and actually shoot it.. not hidden away in a safe like a deep dark secret.

Walk out into the light and live my brothers! Get thee to the range and enjoy life! God I love the smell of gunpowder in the mornin'!

Addicted takes on a whole new meaning when you have an entire family that shoots... all 22s....LOL

Left two plus the pistols are mine... the middle right is my GFs... and the far right and laying down rifle is her sons...
