I'm still trying to decide if I want to roll the dice with one or just stick with what I have
I'm going to give this one a try in ARA Factory class this season at least initially. Last year I used a BMR for half the season and a 457 MTR for the last half of the season. Nothing wrong with either of those two rifles as they both shot competitively with good ammo. I do really like the weight of the b14r as compared to the others. Time will tell if it's a keeper or not.

I’m going to shoot my B14R in Factory class too along with my 452 American. I’m probably going to sell my 457 VPC and or my 457 VPT MTR (locally) They’re both good shooters and I’ve shot matches with each where I aggd above 2400. Both have shot multiple 2500’s in matches. I just am more into UL now and need to thin the herd. The B14R is super nice for navigating a target. We’ll see how it plays out.

ARA factory class is what I'd use the B-14R for as well. I shot my T1x last year and did well but I guess we're always looking for something that might be a little better. My T1x shoots really well. So the B-14R would have some big shoes to fill. But the extra weight would be a good thing too. All I can do is pick one up and see what happens. I plan on moving to UL at some point so I'm hesitant to spend more money on a factory class gun that may not shoot any better than what I have now. But I've been interested in owning a B-14R for awhile now. So I guess now's the time if I'm going to do it

You really need to get one so you can come up with a single shot adaptor that actually works!
The only one I have found so far is more trouble than it is worth.
(I know ... selfish on my part ..LOL)

haha that's another reason I've been wanting one but no guarantees I can improve upon what's already out there. It's not always easy to make SSAs feed as nice a we'd like. I'm willing to give it my best try though

not many bad reviews on the b14s. if it doesn't shoot good someone will buy it. it was the best out of the box 22 I have. the 1712 might shoot better but it's in a chassis. I only shoot steel targets off the bench with bipods and rear bag. it has worked well to 200 meters. I shoot sk and lapua it seems to shoot better in all my guns. just need a little push do ya

Is not the B 14R a controlled round feed. I tried one single shot adapter and it didn't work well. FWIW I started using magazine feed. Also the loading port seems small for single round feeding. Just my take

It is controlled round feed so single feeding doesn’t help as far as bullet deformation goes. I bought a single shot adapter because I prefer it in match’s. I don’t have to worry about loading mags between relays. However the design of the bolt raceway isn’t conducive for single feeding. It’s not very intuitive. You have to really pay attention to how you place the cartridge inside. If you don’t place it in there exactly correct it will bind up on you. With my CZ single shot adapters I can pretty much throw it in there.

The ARA factory rules changed for 2023. The B-14R is under the MSRP limit. So, now might be the time. I've read about it and compared to BMR. Both are shooters but the 14 maybe a bit tighter for bench work. Like you, I may get one but am hesitant right now. BTW, your single shot adapter for the BMR is great!

Yep I was aware of the rule change when I posted that. I'm still on the fence about getting a B14R. Since I posted that I've seen a few factory shooters write that they picked up a B14R and they were less than thrilled with them and they sent them down the road. My experience with the BMR also has me a bit leery. As well as my Tikka shoots off an Atlas bipod it would take a really good B14R to be an improvement. Still here I am contemplating rolling the dice and hoping I get one that's a great shooter

I owned a BMR and sent it down the road. The BMR would not shoot as good as my CZ 452. The B14R will out perform the 452 by about a 100 point average on the ARA factory target.
