First Bergara

I have a steel barrel and anything SK shoots great in mine. For cheaper ammo, Norma Tac 22 shoots extremely well.

Jonesy, I just ordered a rifle like yours today and I hope the both shoot tiny groups.....

I know it’s a frustration answer, but get whatever you can get your hands on right now. I’ve had Sk rifle lots that were great in my b14r, but I’ve had other lots that wouldn’t hold 2moa. Lot to lot variation is kind of crazy to witness.

Also do some testing with the action screw torques. Mine likes just over 20 in/lbs, which is quite low.

Ditto, mine liked factory 55inch lbs setting tested starting with 20. but others have tested and showed 20, 30, 40 etc is what their rifle likes best.

I cleaned off the paint from top of bedding blocks in the stock plus did the DIY trigger job and invested in a better front rest rear bag setup… oh and Im also running the Arken EP5 MRAD 5-25x56 now. (Rabbit hole)

Eley ammo of most shoots great in Winter.

My two are completely unimpressed with anything Eley. I have heard that the chambers were optimized for SK type bullets? Mine are both Carbon Fiber barrels, one in the Bergara chassis and the other in a Magpul stock. Mine also shoot SK Long Range very well. I believe my torque settings are in the 50" pound range.

Love my two Bergara' s, my B14R barely out shoots my CZ 457 MTR Varmint.
