Firing Pin Peening

waltonshooter,

It is safe to dry fire a "Ruger" 10/22......! ! :)

Dry firing a 10/22 will NOT peen the chamber [breech face] because the firing pin is arrested by the "Firing Pin Stop Pin" [B-13]....! !

CAUTION:
0 Reducing the headspace by grinding the bolt face may result in excessive firing pin protrusion.....! !
0 Disassembly / reassembly of the bolt without the "Firing Pin Stop Pin" [B-13] WILL result in the peening the breech face....! !

Hope this helps....! ! :)
