The Fat Wrench seems to be the go to inch pound DYI armorers torque wrench. But I have a question and observation about it. Which part of the thick red line is used to take the accurate measurement? The top, middle or bottom? And how does one get precise when there are no serration dividing lines only 10, 20, 30, etc?

The fat red line spans about 7-8 inch pounds. I thought the whole idea of using a torque wrench was to be precise when tightening nuts and bolts because it matters.
If I was that worried I’d spend the money and get a digital one with a more precise calibration. The test card with the Fat wrench showed a 2lb variation in the three tests they did.

hah even i think it's overkill... do not guess what a snap on one might cost... :ROFLMAO::LOL::D:p
I have a bunch of Snap-On tools...they are stupid expensive. A Snap-On torque wrench is the top of the game for "made in the USA", at least for people with any kind of annual income less than $1M/year...but the people with that kind of money don't turn wrenches themselves anyway.

'... buy snap on or eat?' :ROFLMAO::p:LOL::D i work with a guy who has what i think is a complete set of British Standard Snap-on tools. I'd imagine he could have purchased a nice vacation for what they cost. :p

Same rules apply with tools as they do with guns. Buy the best and you spend less money than "buy what I can pay for today". People that shop at Harbor Freight often spend more money on garbage than what it would have cost them to buy Snap-On, Klein, Mac, the list goes on.
