Is this a dual or single claw extractor 10/22.? It makes sense that the .17 cases extracts well.! There is less bearing surface due to the bottle neck design of the .17 as oppossed to the straight wall case of he 22mag..

Single extractor models are notorius for this.! I would opt to replace the bolt for a dual extractor.. FWIW,You can also try a titanium extractor which will help some but may or may not be to your satisfaction, it will still likely jam after 10-15 rnds..

FWIW, Ive never had a minuts problem out of my dual after hundreds & hundreds of rnds.. I been out of the scene for a while & had no idea Ruger discontiued the rifle though. Hum, sounds like a alloy problem.! Anyhow, the ole man set you straight.! good luck & happy hunting with your new rig..
