Factory 10/17 Ruger

873 6
The April issue of Varmint Hunter magazine just came this morning and has a full page Ruger ad on the back cover. "A .17 for all seasons". The picture shows a .17 cal pistol, 77/17 bolt, 96/17 lever and 10/17 auto rifle. I guess the factory finally decided to get in on the action.

I have a neat customized 10/22 as well as three bolt .17's. I, like most of us, salivated at the thought of a 10/17 ( or, more accurately, a 9/17 ). While banging away with my 10/22 the other day, I had a thought: "...If this were a 9/17, I would have just, in the last fifteen seconds, gone through $2.00 worth of ammo instead of a quarter's worth. Hmm....." Maybe I'll stick with the 10/22. That semi-auto action is addictive, and you can go thru 9 or 10 rounds in a real hurry.. Then again, maybe .17 ammo will come down. Maybe the sun will come up in the west......
