Linda was doing all the award stuff but she has since moved on. I don't remember exactly who is supposed to be doing this, I think Ron G had it for awhile but I don't know who has it now.

25 Yd. unlimited

245 3x Wallace Whitlow Arkansas (Deadi)
Anschutz 1416 HB
CCI Hp Swift 4x16 Premier
Shot off Bags. Calm.

I hate to even post this because I think it is a fluke. This was my first target and the other 3 were 236 to 238 which I think is about the limit with my set up and ammo. I need to get a real rest and a more stable bench before my scores will improve much more.

First break in the weather we have had [ 20-30 knot winds , rain / snow ] .. Unfortunately the break did not last long enough to shoot a 50 meter target . So now the winds back [ 3 hour respite ] ....

OK-- I teased every one about a good score, here are the facts.
John Day had some Eley Tenex ammo that his guns didn't like and I shot a few rounds and it looked very good, so I decided to shoot a target at 25 yards. I shot the target and knew it was a good one, but it had 4 bulls that through the scope I knew would be in question. The first bull had a lot of the 10 ring showing and I didn't think it would be an X. Bulls number 6 and 11 had a small amount of ten visable and number 21 had a tear going to 5 o'clock. The backer at the city range had been shot at a lot and had holes in it.
We got the target and John started scoring it. Pluged the first bull, and John said this is an X, I looked at it and sure enough the 10 ring was gone. What a thrill. bulls 6 and 11 the plug took out the ten ring. Bull number 21 was a tear.

John said in an e-mail to Joe in talking about the target

"From: John Day

Subject: RE: 250-25X

It's a 25x target as far as I'm concerned....and I don't have a dog in this hunt....number one ten ring partially shows up without a plug cause the center bull was pushed back by the bullet without a complete tear out....When you put the plug in, all the 10 ring goes away, but part of it springs back when you take the plug out...With plug in, you don't see green....with plug out, you can see green...We like to look through magnification, straight down from the top...and it is what it is....Number 21 is as Jim says, rough backer not allowing a perfectly round tear in the paper....."

Joe replayed back
"Hello John:

If you plugged those shot holes and you say there was no green showing on any of the shots, then it was a 250-25X as far as I am concerned, too"

outside 25 yards
250-25x Jim Pollard. Kingsland, Texas (greybeard)
Custom Remington 40x, Weaver T36 ,Eley Tenex
40X, Shilen ratchet bbl, Shilen Trigger, Hoehn tuner, Tirrell BR stock, Built by F. Tirrell with bedded barrel sleeve, and action and barrel floated. Machine work (metal) by Jay Sullivan.
Light wind from 9:00 o'clock
Scored by John Day

I bought the 2 1/2 bricks John had of the ammo. :D
