That's Right: Furgus Bailey from Down Under rounded up a BUNCH a them Aussies for the May Matches. Looks like we reallly have gone International.

Now: Where is that Canadian Team?

Joe

Well, we held our second USBR match today. We had 11 competitors this time
around and I think that number is susstainable, give or take a few. I also
plan to promote the matches in the major Australian shooting magazine
because I think this will attract new shooters to our club. We are
prodominantly centrefire shooters, so organised rimfire matches will appeal
to some who have not been attracted to the club in the past. I think we will
find interest in a match about every 2nd month, which is about how we plan
to run them. We'll see.

Hope the reporting below is ok, let me know if there is a problem or any
peice I need to fine tune.

Thanks guys for all the kind words - its good to be a part of this community. Given everything else we have going in the club, I think we will only be submitting scores every other month, but we will work toward having 6 well attended shoots each year.

The target is a real challenge, especially at 50 yards and a lot of us are still fine-tuning our equipment. I think serious competition will see more investment by the locals here. Once people see what the good rifles/shooters are doing, they will want to be a part of it.

I hope to get others from around the country involved in the USBR format too. There are some very serious rimfire competitors over here. I think over the next 12 months this will grow.

Yikes, I think we may well live to regret letting these foxes into the henhouse. If they go after it like any other adventure, there's going to be 'ell to pay. I remember how the Aussie surfers just flat took over the Pro Surfing scene once they set thier minds to it. It's all good though, everyone will just pick up their game a notch and we will all benefit. :t GG
