Actually, if you look in the Stickies, you will find information on extractor tuning which includes bending the tip.
The headspace on 10-22 bolts can vary quite a bit, causing extraction issues, and the early fix was to bend the tip so there was less free play between the case rim and the claw.
The better fix developed later was machining the face of the bolt face to correct excess headspace, and installing a better aftermarket extractor.
I have twelve 10-22's of various build-up's, all have Que machined bolts with VQ extractors, and all extract flawlessly.
I even have a few extra Que'd bolts tucked away for future use.
