Drop In Trigger

Hey all. I was considering upgrading the trigger on my M4-22, as I have done previously on a couple of AR's. I figured I would ask, before getting into an issue if a regular drop in won't work.

Can any AR drop in trigger be used in a M4-22, or is there specs that are different and require a specific type?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Some will drop in and work fine, some won't. I know my CMC was going to need to be modified to work correctly. The only one I KNOW will drop in and function perfectly and give you a high quality 2 stage is the Elftmann they sell on their website.

If you call Tippmann, they can tell you what will drop in and work, what will need modification and if you have a favorite trigger, Greg can probably get it to work.

TriggerTech Diamond AR trigger is drop-in on M4-22 elite 18” rifle (non-bug out). The same model of trigger will not fit the micro elite bug out as slot in FCU is too narrow. Spoke with TriggerTech who said don’t narrow the hammer and Tippmann said don’t widen the slot and need stick with stock since they had to make the slot what it is for bug-out. Great group at both companies.

Currently what I have used in post 20k lowers with no modifications and great success;

Rise Armament Rave 140 and PPC
Elftmann Tactical
Hiperfire PDI series (my favorite)
Palmetto State Armory Custom 3.5lb match single stage. (CMC is OEM I believe)
Stern H2S

I'm sure there are more drop in triggers that work, just haven't tried them. (yet!)

Of course with all things manufactured, your mileage may vary.

I put in the Elftmann competition trigger in my M4-22 drops right in took me about 15 minutes. Set it to around 2lbs works great. They have them on the Tippmann web site but you can find them cheaper just have to search. Resilient Arms has them and they have a great customer service base if you have questions.
