DrGunner deserves a Big Thanks

Kevin aka DrGunner has helped me with my first time bedding and fitting my Kidd 10/22, taking the time to answer my questions. Gun turned out excellent, it is also the most accurate of the four Kidd Rifles I own. Keven sent me a Gunnet Tool kit that I received today, when UPS handed me the box I couldn't imagine what it was upon opening I was shocked. What a thoughtful gift, most items are hand made, I will have a use for everything in this kit.I included a picture, Kevin is a real asset to this site. Thanks Kevin!

Now Zoe would a make battalion sized batch of General Tso's Tasty Tender Taboo Tabby Tots...with duck sauce, never ketchup. Only a cretin would put ketchup on such a delicacy :p

That is a magnificent creature Doc. Glad I'm not picking up the plop though!

Frank- one of the best things about Zöe is the way she takes treats from your hand. No matter what it is- even her favorites, cheese and bacon, she is SO unbelievably gentle. She literally opens her big maw in slow motion, and moves so slowly & carefully that we often become impatient...
My wife & I often say,!"Would you take it already!?!?!"

She was never taught this, it's always been her way.

I've had dogs my whole life- all large breed, including 3 Rottweilers. None of our other dogs have been as gentle taking food as Zöe. Which is ironic because when she's excited to greet me when I get home from work, she often knocks me down accidentally because she hops around & doesn't know her own strength. As I said, she's on a diet and DOWN to 180lb. She's noticeably stronger than any of my Rotties when we wrestle and play.

She probably poops like elephant.

Yeah, my yard is a minefield. I had to order a heavy duty hinged rake & shovel style pooper scooper!

Chiming in here, I've also been the recipient of Dr. G's generosity in both cleaning tools and bedding instructions, and he is the man. Seriously his cleaning tools have been in my range bag for years now and they've been so useful. His instructional posts are some of the best here too and we should all be grateful for the level of detail he shares.

So thanks again man. You are one of the folks that makes RFC great.

Well Doc, when you have a teacup mastodon a gentle mouth is a very good thing!

After giving this some thought I may have come up with a solution for turning that dung into fun...a radio control front end loader!

Just need to figure out what to do with the "product" once you have it scooped up ;)

Hopefully the RC loader has enough battery life to make it to the neighbor's yard and back. :D
Dr. Gunner: Your generosity and compassion have given me strength and hope in terrible times. A simple "thank you" doesn't seem to be enough. God bless.

Awww, shucks! Kudos from two RFC veterans whom I deeply respect and admire!
You two are shining examples of why I always say I'm giving back to this community, because I've learned so much from people like you.

Thanks Guys!

Hah! Did you ever google "RC Wheel Loaders"?

They range in price from $40 to over $4000!!!

I imagine the lower price ones would not be strong enough to move mastodung!

Hopefully the RC loader has enough battery life to make it to the neighbor's yard and back. :D
I was thinking the same thing ;)

Great to hear this; this past holiday season was a particularly rough one for my family- your words mean more than you might think. The last Gunner tool kit Pay it Forward I did was in October. I'm thinking it'll be time to rectify that soon, when I can carve out some shop time to fabricate the components.

Thanks, to ALL, for your kindness & support!

How about a trebuchet? That should be able to reach the neighbors.

I am thankful for all of you. Some days it's all that keeps me going.

Sitting here at 3:15AM, waiting for my daughter to get saddled up to take her to her school for her 8th class trip to Washington DC and this popped up on my "Recommended reading" list. Started perusing through this thread and caught your post and realized that I did not catch it before, when you posted it- and therefore never responded. So sorry for that, I didn't mean to leave you out of the conversation.

Thanks, boss- It has truly been an honor and a privilege.

As we say here in blighty DrGunner is a "good egg" not only has his cleaning kits been invaluable, it has also provided my club with a means to easily service our plethora of 10/22's. Added to that the Dr and I have communicated privately about many things and I would say its an honor to call him a friend even though accursed geography and finances make it hard for me to jump across the pond.

If only they had teleporters, but ones you could take your guns with too! although being fused to my CZ in principle is an attractive proposition its something I wouldn't want to experiment with as having to gain sustenance from a diet of .22Lr would be expensive in the current economic climate, and eating lead does nothing but add weight.

One of the the things that definitely appeals to me about the RFC community is the number of class guys that inhabit the forums. Have not had personal dealings with Dr. Gunner, but I got a quick positive read on him from his posts and what other folks said. And I have been on the receiving end of Flys' generosity more than once (left a like new 1022 rifle in my vehicle as I was leaving the Tulsa gun show a couple of years back, sent me a pack of the red and green Christmas CCI Minimags one time, and generously allowed me share his table at the Tulsa show), and I will throw in Teddy Bear Rat who was generous in helping me with the purchase of a pair of Cooper rifles for me and my son and sent me an extractor retaining ring for a 64 Anschutz. Generosity is a quality I admire, respect, and try to remind myself to emulate from time to time.

The bit about the 10-22 cracked me up, because I can SO see him doing that!!!

FlysAlot has given more to me and my kids than I could ever hope to repay in one lifetime. I'm honored & privileged to count him as a friend.

Yes, he is a good friend and a great guy. I haven't had much luck in repaying his kindness - tried to give him a Leupold scope one time, but he would have none of it. But I have come to realize that seems to be part of his nature....he seems to exemplify the concept of "better to give than to receive".

I have been blessed to associate with and be influenced by some good folks in my life. We sometimes overlook the influence good people have on others around them.

Yep. I try to gravitate to people who lead by example & make we want to be a better man. Flys is a perfect example.
👍🏻
Flys and I are cat guys. I have 9, Tim has 2? 3? I think 2. Heck, I have a hard enough time keeping track of our horde, much less his!!!

A while back, I reached out to the community asking for recommendations on a tire gauge. Not only did Flys randomly send me a gauge/inflator, he also threw in a large tub of cat treats for Larry and the rest. Our menagerie holds him in high regards, and I tend to agree with them!

One day Tim will be able to retire to his own version of “God’s Country”, aka The Olympic Peninsula here in Washington State. In fact, that is how we became friends. He reached out to me asking for local knowledge to aid him in selecting the proper part of The PNW in which to land (pun intended…😬). Lots of airports up here, and many are short/grass fields. So much more exciting than flying corporate!!

See you soon, I hope, Tim!!
