Hi,
I am working on my first 10/22 build and wondered if this counted as a SuperStock or not?

My Plan:
Ruger 10/22 WW Special in Stainless
Weaver Stainless Base
Burris Medium Zee Rings - Matte
Mueller APV - Black
Bell & Carlson Extended Mag Release
WeaponKraft Bolt Buffer
Auto Bolt Release Mod
Green Mountain 24" SS Fluted Sporter
PC Hammer
Magnum Charging Handle & Polish Guide Rod
Swivel Stud Mod

Already Done:
WW 10/22
Weaver Base
Burris Zee Rings
Auto Bolt Mod (that was easy and left a huge smile on my face! :bthumb: )
B&C Extended Mag Release
Mueller AVP
Swivel Stud Mod
Power Custom Hammer
Magnum Charging Handle
Waiting on parts for the rest. Pics to follow!

Plan is for just a plinker/prairie dog gun. Am I missing anything?

Sounds like it's going to be a nice build. :bthumb:

You might consider a VQ or PC hammer (or DIY if you're into that) to lighten that notorious 8 lb Ruger trigger pull.

BlueGoose,

yup, sounds like you have a great plan. the only thing i can think of that
is "missing" is a good hammer as Speed sugg'd and some 1/2 decent ammo,

if you are into that sort of thing, there are a few games here to play in,

and, Welcome to the SS forum, i think you are gonna like it here with
all the great people and "pirate humor" haha,

pics when available, plz, lol,

oh, and, if there is anything you wanna know about your new gun, dont
hesitate to ask. there is a library full of info here from folks that have already
done-it-to-it, sorta thingee,

Rico....

I only have put a few hundred rounds through it, CCI Mini Mags, Remington Goldens, and Federal Champions. What do you suggest?
Can anyone suggest a hammer that would improve trigger pull while keeping cost down?

Goose,

i and others here have had good luck with Fed American eagles, both varieties
and is cheap. i like the CCI std velocity. depends on what is available to
you, try as many types as you can get. if you are near a WW see if they
have the Fed Automatch ammo, great stuff, comes in a pak of 325 rnds,
about $14.00, but yea, hard to suggest any ammo to anyone, as all rimmers
are diff in what each gun will shoot well in general with the cheaper stuff.

once you mount up your new bbl you will see a BIG diff,

a few of the sponsors here carry aftermarket hammers which is ALL you need
and is a simple operation, about $32.00, but well worth the cost, IMO,

Rico....

you ought to just get that 22"er reworked. it will shoot better than the GM unless you get real lucky and pull the barrel of the century.

I don't know what Nemo is charging to rechamber but I know he does a fine job of it. hey you could still plink with it and then once you want to start shooting small groups that Nemo "ized" factory barrel would do that also.

As a recent customer of Nemo, I can attest that his barrels shoot bulk ammo just fine. You can plink all you want, and exhibit darn impressive consistency when you need it. Not to mention, the $$ you save by rechambering the barrel you already have will buy a lot of bullets :)

mail-man just came. Still crappy pics, but getting closer.

Wasn't overly happy with the Mueller AVP when I got it. The green Mueller Logo was lying in the bottom of the box, so I had to loctitie that back on, and the windage adjustment cover that says "AVP" is upside down when it is on all the way (I guess a pet peeve of mine), so I had to move it to the elevation adjustment spot. Also has small scratch in the finish that I can live with but still... I wonder if I can get a replacement windage adjustment cover?

Extended mag release was a snap, and well worth it!

Thanks for everyones help so far!

I have 3 APVs and I have put the APV logo cap on top on all three where they usually line up pretty close. I see this on many makes of scopes. I wish they would just leave the APV off altogether.

As for the green loop falling off all of mine are still on. EXCEPT the one on my 2.5 -7X WEAVER Classic!! :D

Range Day

Took the 10/22 out for a day of shooting since the updates and mods. I was pleased with what I had. Really liked the Mueller APV despite the few cosmetic problems I had initially. Plinked just fine out to 100 yards. Extended Mag Release and Auto Bolt Mod are soooooooooooo worth it! :t
I think I will be installing that PC hammer in the very near future.
Will get grouping pics next time. Today was just about putting as many rounds down range as possible.

Man this is addicting...

+1 on the extended mag release, auto bolt release and the addictive nature of SuperStock! :D
