Dang. I've been reading these forums for about a year now and finally bought a Walmart Special for my son as a high school graduation gift. It was used but in good shape. So, seeing it had about a 9 pound trigger, I decided to get a Volquartsen hammer. I will admit it, I was very doubtful that a hammer would make much difference. While I was ordering , I also got a bolt buffer and a PC scope base. All from reading this forum. Dang.
Please realize, I've been shooting black powder cowboy action guns for the last two years, so I was used to breaking down a model 92 lever action rifle after each shoot. That was a real pain in the neck.
I got the 10/22 parts today (quick service from Hawktech) and using the tips on this website I had them installed in about 20 minutes. Dang. I can't believe how easy these 10/22's are to work on. Now the trigger is 2.5 lbs.
Now I am thinking about a project gun for me. Dang.

I just wanted to thank all who have added to this forum---- this is great!!!.

Now I am hooked.

Thanks,
Scrappy

Welcome to the madness. These guns are almost as much fun to build up as they are to shoot. Speaking of which I will FINALLY get a chance to really shoot mine this weekend. Heading to the lake house in Upper WI. There are 2 outdoor ranges within 25 minutes of the house so I can get her sighted in. The wife is pretty excited about trying it out as well. I can't see her wanting her own, but glad she is supportive of the "gun thing".

Hey Scrappy - welcome to RFC!!!

Yes the 10/22 journey is a fun one! You can make evil black ones, or robo-rugers, or super nice wood.

This place is here to ensure I have no leftover disposable income.!!!!

DANG!
