I just recently acquired a new to me CZ 457 varmint in 22lr.
I have a Leupold 4.5-14x40 30mm scope laying around I was
thinking about putting it on it.
No one around here has scope rings for it so I will have to order.
So can someone tell me what height rings I need so I can get
it right the first time? Thinking Warne rings.

I use Warne rings on most of my rimfires. If you go to their website they provide the measurements under the specifications section for each type of ring. Here is one for the 721 M as an example. I like to mount my rings as low as possible to the barrel but you may have different requirements. There are lots of purchasing sources for Warne Rings.

My guess is you are going to really like the 457 Varmint . . .

Warne 721M rings are 1" so they won't work. 731M (medium) or 732M (high) rings are 30mm and will work. With a 40mm obj, the 731M rings should work on your varmint model.
