Hi guys,

I need some info on the CZ scout. I am 13 and was wondering if it would be too small. trying too decide between the Scout and the MK II LV. The LV is a little heavy at 6.5 pounds, while the scout is only 4 pounds. Because of the shortened barrel I have heard, it is very loud. Would some subsonics help that any?

Really the only thing that I am concerned about is will it fit or not.

The fit will depend on how tall you are. Have you tried full-size guns? Did they feel too large or ok? The scout is small but I know adults who find them comfortable. I find them a bit small but at 6' 2" it really isn't designed for me. The short barrel is loud, and I doubt subsonics will help a lot. Rimfire ammo for pistols like Wolf Match Extra and CCI Pistol Match might have faster burning powder and hence a little less muzzle blast.

I'd recommend getting the Scout or perhaps a Special if you are almost big enough for a full-size gun. You really cannot beat the CZs for value and my bet is that it will be a gun you pass on to your children. If you get the Scout you can always put a larger stock on it as you grow.

Thanks Brookie. I am 5` 5". 120#. I like how light and compact the Scout is{and the price !} Yes, I have tried full sized guns and they are not too big{or too small} but I think I want something as light as i can get. Just how loud is the is.

Again thanks for the help. I think that when I do get a 22 I will have to dedicate it too all the internat sites have visited !!

Hi Rancher. I got my son a CZ scout for Christmas and we have both been pleased with it. He is 8 and it might be a bit big for him but not much. I think I enjoy shooting it as much as he does. The only complaint I have is the trigger. I tried to lighten it some but need to work on it some more. I think I'm going to order one of Brookie's kits. I also free floated the barrel and the little gun shoots great. As to your question about noise, the rifle is fairly loud with hi velocity ammo but not very loud with CCI Green Tag. I imagine most target ammo would not be that loud. Good luck and good shooting. :t
