I got the ARA competition bug, I want to improve my scores.
The MTR is popular at our matches. Even with cheap optics one old timer usually wins.
I really like the AT-1 especially with the 16” bbl.
What should I get?

I’m going to the VA State tournament this weekend. I have two MTR’s, but I’ll be shooting a 24” VPC. Don’t get me wrong MTR’s are a little more likely to be better shooters than non MTR’s, but not always. The guys at the top (not me) are all shooting 24” heavy taper barrels. My last match was a Five card match and my Agg was 2440 with the VPC, barely beating the only other two Factory shooters who were shooting MTR’s.
If I were going to get a 16” though it would be an MTR.

Are you talking the MTR in the Manners stock? If so I believe that is hovering at just about twice the $600 price tag of a At-One. I'm not sure that is a fair comparison.
Also, can I ask why your fixed on the 16" model?

This is what I chose for me and ARA Benchrest shooting. CZ 457 Varmint Precision Trainer CAMO
