Chief,

Shooting crows out of the air is one thing.....

But, doing it with a rifle???

Oh Wow!!!! That is so spectacular!

A box of ammo isn't too much, considering.....Have you ever thought about using one of your Scout Rifles for it? The low-powered scopes or red dot scopes might work quite well.
Just a thought....

That's Great Shooting! :t :t for this one!!!!

Thanks for sharing!

One oldtimer I asked said he used to "skillet " shoot ducks.
that always puzzled me .

Chief,

If them crows was shootin' back at ya' with their "mini-guns" and they was "stalled out" you wouldn't have to be leadin' 'em at all!!! Bwahahahaha!!

Great shooting, CD! Nearest I came to this was picking a turkey buzzard out of the air with a .22LR one afternoon. Walked over to inspect the buzzard and there was a d*mn cottonmouth snake already curled up with it!! Got him too. john would'a been proud of me! The difference between you and me, however, is that doing it once was lucky, doing it six times is skilled.

Chief shoots at a Crow it falls dead, I shoot at a flying Crow it circles back a poops on me just for spite!

Chief says : OOOH! HEADDRESS starting to swell , must reduce.

Much easier task at hand , when (1) YOU have an electronic
caller and a few crow decoys posted about.
Also shooting method - routine helps too.
(2) Try and take approaching targets vrs broadside shots. Wait
till many crows arrive and start to "swarm" in groups before
shooting starts. (3) Never shoot the "scout" single crow
when he returns to re-evaluate the battle ground after a
shooting session. He will recall all the survivors for another
attack. unless he sees you , or figures the flock has lost the
battle already. (4) With a little practice its not really that tough.
22 makes about 1/4 the sound of a 12 gauge.
(5) Make use of downed targets (crows) as decoys. at your
next location of the day.
SEE : nothin to it.

WOW Chief!

I shoot em when they've landed. Once again you have proven who the master is, Obi Wan...I hit em in the air with the 20 gauge but use the maagnum on em when they've landed. Sorry I didn't see this thread rightaway...

Zircon...

I'm in your league here...a couple of times, plus a couple instances of falling feathers... don't think I'd even try to pull a CD on a crow though... well, maybe I'd ...try... it. :D

(...but I wouldn't hold my breath. :D )

Chief says : A little easier that ye smart black "crow".
One might consider (steel shot alternative) the FMJ
effect on "higher flyin objects".

Trick here , forget about the horizontal balistic tables.
Vertical shooting , The bullet crosses the line-of-sight only
once. If your rifle shoots high at 200 it still shoots high
at 400 straight up.

Chief...

Many moons ago, I went hunting as a kid, with my uncle. He loaned me his 22/20 guage over and under. We were back at the car getting ready to leave and putting our guns away when a lone Canadian flew over. His gun was unloaded so he grabbed the O/U from me and took a shot at it... I had it set to shoot on the rifle... down came the honker. both our mouths fell open and we just stared at each other...:p

Chief says : ya cant hit it , if ya dont shoot at it !
If ya shoot at it enough , soon ya learn how to hit it.

After that , its all fun and games. Watch others stare with
amazement as you show them unbelievable shots .
