It may be my imagination, but it doesn't seem to be as many Crows now as
it use to be. Maybe it's just my part of the country.
Most years on Deer stand first thing
in the mourning was crows squak'in,
raseing 'ell at an owl or hawk.
this year noth'in. Not a bad thing,but
I just noticed they weren't there.

Then a couple of days back,I went to this dairy farm where they feed a lot
of grain, most of the time in the past
there would be a couple hundred crows
in the area, now maybe a couple dozen.

Crows migrate to some extent, but in the past there has always been plenty of them around at any given time of the year.

A few were found with West Nile
not far away back in the summer, but
I don't think this took to large a number out by the number of dead ones found.

Just wondering if anyone else had
noticed a difference in the number of
Crows in there area.

Not sure how much truth there is to this, but I asked the same thing here not to long ago. You used to see tons of them in the fields, in the air, and on powerlines

Around here (Northern Illinois) they are saying that it is due to West Nile Virus. I don't know if that is true or not, but that is what they are saying around here.

Odd thing is...not many doves or bluejays either.

I dont think I have been aroudn long enough to tell. I have been crow hunting since I was 11. now .....(2 min. passed) Wow, I have been hunting a few years now. Anyways, I never really started really watching game numbers, till I started really hunting by myself. Crows in Central MN, dont seem to be down for what I can remeber. Course they do seem a whole lot smarter. You can barely stop with in rifle range of them in some areas. My local gunsmith has not seen a crow a land with sight of his yard since last winter. Wonder why? He shot a fly at 200 yards with his 22br. a couple of years ago. :t
